Fans of the music band Guns N’ Roses would be shocked to discover that the ex-drummer for the band, Steven Adler, was rushed to the hospital in late-June following what has been called an attempt by Adler himself to take his own life.

Steven Adler is currently 54 years of age.

According to the LAPD officer Jeff Lee, a call had been made to the local authorities around 6:30 pm on 27th June, reporting the possibility that a suicide had been attempted inside a home in the Studio City region of California.

No Criminal Activity

When police arrived at the scene, they treated the matter as a medical emergency rather than a crime scene since the harm was expected to be self-inflicted. Thankfully, as per Officer Lee, the injuries sustained by the patient were non-life threatening in nature, however, he was still rushed to the nearest hospital in the vicinity to receive appropriate treatment.

The initial report received by the Fire Department in Los Angeles had stated that possibly a stabbing had taken place at the same address, so naturally, the law enforcement officers had to be prepared for all scenarios, including ones involving criminal activity. Apart from Adler, there was no other party on the scene.

A Successful Career

Naturally, people have started to reflect on all the good times that Adler has spent in this world, most of which have come through his work with Guns N’ Roses. Adler was born in the Cleveland Region of Ohio, and then joined the band which was founded by a group of individuals including Axl Rose all the way back in the mid-80s.

Guns N’ Roses became one of the most popular rock bands of all time soon after its inception in the 80s.

Shortly after the band’s inception, Guns N’ Roses released Appetite for Destruction, their first album, in 1987. Although their music was great and they could’ve anticipated they would receive some recognition for it, we bet nobody could’ve estimated they would end up selling 28 million copies of it around the world.

Adler’s Struggles Over The Years

The fact that Adler has struggled to get a grip on his habit of abusing substances is public knowledge. In fact, it goes all the way back to the time when the band released its first album. Apparently, the band had to temporarily remove him because he had managed to get his hand broken, allegedly as a result of a brawl.

Steven is still considered an integral part of the band, even if he is not playing with them anymore.

The American Music Awards, which took place in 1989, also missed Adler, as the musician failed to make an appearance on the show because he was down with the flu, or at least that is the official explanation given by the group. However, it was later discovered that Adler was participating in a program for drug rehabilitation.

Of course, the band eventually had tolerated enough of Adler’s irresponsible use of drugs and, in the year 1990, he was removed from the group because of the same reason.

However, after the signing of a contract promising to refrain from any irresponsible drug use, he was allowed back in. But that same year, he became addicted to substances yet again and was fired.
