“Game of Thrones” is no doubt one of the highest-rating shows, which makes it successful. So when it ended, a lot of people couldn’t believe their eyes that the eight seasons have come by so fast and that the beloved actors and their characters are finally bidding goodbye.

For almost a decade, the cast members were with us as we watch the story unfold into a twisted plot, which piqued interest all the more. But if there’s one person that got affected by the series, it’s none other than its lead star, Kit Harrington who played the main protagonist Jon Snow.

Checking into a Treatment Facility

This was after reports circulated that the actor has checked in to a posh wellness facility for about a month now even before the show ended. According to rumor mills, Kit shells out $120,000 per month for the Connecticut retreat, wherein he reportedly underwent psychological coaching, meditation, and cognitive behavioral therapy to fight stress.

Kit Harington was tied to his Jon Snow character so much

The bit about entering a facility rendered true when a representative confirmed that indeed, the move was to work on some personal issues.

A source, meanwhile, claims that Kit was finding it hard to deal with the fame that he was thrust into once he played Jon Snow. If you think about it, he started at the show at 22 and was just fresh from drama school, fast forward to now, he is 32. That phase, the actor said, was his formative years.

Adverse Effect of Fame

Although the almost 10 years had been nothing but bring him more recognition across the globe, Kit himself previously admitted how it became hard for him to be always in the spotlight. He explained that he felt like he was supposed to be the most fortunate person for the stardom but what he really felt was that he was vulnerable.

The actor spent 10 years on the set of “Game of Thrones.”

The British actor played the part so well that he was tied to the character tighter than he could have escaped from its grip. In fact, the insider said that Kit brought his A game to portraying the character that it became too much for him to handle. Now that the show is finally over, he now needs to check back into himself and learn to be himself again.

Fund-Raising for Kit Harington’s Supported Charity

While news about Kit’s treatment is making the rounds, his fans are here to support their idol by raising funds through a JustGiving account for one of the actor’s supported charities, the Royal Mencap Society, which works with those with learning disabilities. They have a $63,000 goal and have raised $45,600 for it.

Fans are raising money for Kit’s charity

The fans said the action was in appreciation of the many things Jon Snow and Kit have offered to them and to show their utmost gratitude to him. They further praised the actor for his stellar performance in his role.
